Type designations -
First group - V = Victory, C = Cargo, Number = waterline length group (1
= up to 399ft, 2 = 400-449ft, 3 = 450-499ft)
Second group - S = Steam, M = Motor, Number indicates number of screws (only
used when 12 or more passengers)
Third group - Hull design letters plus number to indicate any conversions.
