Container ship. Sister ship to Falstria.

Operated on the US Westcoast Liner Service in co-operation with the Jonson-Line.

Later the vessel was for a period engaged on the West-Africa Service and had deck cranes installed. Sold 1993 to Costamare, Greece and time-chartered to Maersk Line. Re-named Maersk Oceania. which was the fifth name of the vessel. Earlier on, the vessel had also sailed under the names JSS Meonia, Bencairn", Contship Spain. The vessel's last name was Maersk Taupo and she was scrapped on the beach of Alang, India 1999.

Container ship. Operated on the US Westcoast Liner Service in co-operation with Johnson Line.

After closing of this service, the vessel now named JSS Falstria was sent to the Far East to join a feeder service for EAC between Singapore and Australia.

Sold to Greek company Costamare, 1992. Renamed Maersk Australia (charter to Maersk LIne?). Subsequently renamed J J Falstria, Maersk Tekapo, Tekapo all under ownership of Costamare - confusing, eh? Scrapped 1999, Alang, India.

Sold 1986 to US Department of Transportation. Re-flagged and re-named Cape Douglas.

Product tanker originally built for Eletson Maritime Corporation, Piraeus. Greece.

Launched on 11/2/76 without any naming ceremony, however. Like the sister vessel she was rejected by the Greek owners upon completion.

Following a subsequent trial in court, the shipyard decided to keep the vessel, which after being named Pasadena was operated by EAC.

Pasadena was sold to italian owners in 1990. Re-flagged and re-named Valchiara.

Broken up in 2001.

At the launching 8th October 1975, the vessel was named Piraeus Sea. Re-flagged and re-named by Nakskov Shipyard / EAC 1976 after the original owners had rejected the vessel. Sold 1990. Came under Maltese flag and re-named Ninfea.

The cargo section consted of 12 center tanks and 6 pairs of side tanks. The four cargo pumps had a capacity of 900 m3/hour.

 

The vessel was sold a number of times and re-named: Vincenzina, Sea Elevi (Maltese-flag), Norsea (Maltese-flag) Italian owner, Norwegian manager.

Aground, 2003, in Danish waters. During bunkering operations she struck the "Moellegrunden" near to Kerteminde en route Gdansk/Poland to USA carrying round 25,000 mt of liquid urea products. No damage reported. She was still under the name Norsea but now Greek owners.

After the EAC shut down its shipping operation, there were no successors on the route across the Pacific. The liner replacement ships were widely scattered. Samoa became Mitexco in a Mexican timecharter from August 1983, and was then sold in 1985 to Jugoslavia in a busines there involved in the building of Panda at the yard in Rejeka. During the time under Jugoslavian flag, she was renamed Primmorje. Subsequently renamed as Mashallah, Lynne M, and from 1999 as Minerva-P
Scrapped at Alang Anchorage, India (2003?)
AFAIK, her sisterships - i.e. Sargodha, Siena, Simba, Sinaloa, Songkhla and Sumbawa are still sailing under Iranian flag. [CHRISTENSEN, HANSEN, NAKSKOV85]
