Originally built as Raglan Castle (1897) for Castle Line S. African service but proved too unstable in rough weather. Acqured by EAC and renamed St. Doming in 1905. Resold to Barclay, Curle in 1908. Subsequently a varied career as a tramp and a whaler. Capsized while undergoing repairs at Framnes Mek Verksted A/S., Sandefjord in 1929. Laid up at Tonsberg in 1931. Finally sold and towed to Rosyth for scrapping 1934.

Cargo/passenger ship. Accommodation for 1st, 200-2nd and 1,150-3rd class passengers. Four masts and one funnel.

Launched as the Arundel Castle on 2/10/84 for the Castle Mail SP Co. Used on the UK to South Africa service until 1905 when she was sold to the East Asiatic Co, Copenhagen and renamed Birma. Largest ship to cross the bar at Bangkok at that date, 1906.

She was then used on Far East services until 1908 when she transferred to the subsidiary company Russian American Line, Libau. Her first Libau - New York sailing started on 8/12/08 and her last from Libau to Halifax, Boston and New York started on 18/11/13. Renamed Mitau in 1914, she started a single round voyage from Libau to Halifax and New York on 30/12/14 and was then laid up at Kronstadt. In 1921 she was sold to the Polish American Line, renamed Josef Pilsudski and sailed New York - Danzig on 6/10/21. Arrested at Kiel for non-payment of repairs, she laid there until 1924 when she was sold to German owners, renamed Wilbo and scrapped the same year in Italy.
