The History of H.M.S. QUEEN, David Weaver CPM, 2004. An impressive book detailing life aboard a lend lease escort aircraft carrier during WWII, from her collection by her crew from Vancouver, Canada to her final return to the US Navy in 1946. Contains detailed accounts of daily life on board, operations and crew and includes trans-Atlantic aircraft deliveries to the UK and Casablanca, Fleet Air Arm strikes on the Norwegian coast and post war voyages to Murmansk and trooping voyages to Australia, Hong Kong and Ceylon. It includes approx.250 photographs including many of personnel. Also included are six large deck plans, one DVD of air operations from the ship and one CD ROM containing the entire book. This is a superb 'coffee table' sized book weighing over 5.5 lbs and is highly recommended for anyone with an interest in WWII naval history.
